Orthopedic Physician Assistant

The Orthopedic Specialty Clinic at TOSH has a full time opening for a Physician Assistant to work in the Ortho & Injury Now Clinic.

Ortho & Injury Now is an Orthopedic walk-in clinic associated with The Orthopedic Specialty Clinic at TOSH that is a fast paced, high volume clinic that treats a large variety of orthopedic injuries and ailments including but not limited to; fractures, strains, sprains, dislocations, lacerations.  Would prefer a candidate to have experience working with total joints, sports medicine, and/or hand orthopedics, through this not absolutely necessary.  Current ultrasound skills not required, but we anticipate providing ultrasound-guided injections as a future skill that would be learned.  Candidates should feel very comfortable injecting and suturing.  Our work environment is good and busy!  Pay would be production based with a guaranteed salary.

Position Responsibilities include:

• Evaluate and treat all types of orthopedic injuries including but not limited to; sprains, strains, ligament and tendon tears, fractures and dislocations.  This will include hand/wrist/elbow, foot/ankle, knee, hip, neck and back injuries.
• Suture lacerations
• Reduce and splint/sling various dislocations
• Splint/cast various fractures
• Facilitate appropriate referrals to surgeons and other providers
• Order appropriate and necessary diagnostic imaging for various injuries
• Interpret and discuss diagnostic imaging reports and lab work with patients
• Order appropriate and necessary pharmaceuticals for various orthopedic ailments
