Changes to PA Pratice in Utah

Posted about 4 years ago in Legislation

On May 5, 2021, Utah S.B. 27 & 28 became law.  However, just because these have been signed into law does not mean all is done.  Now it is the task of the Utah Executive branch-in this case the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL)-to create rules fulfilling the intent of the laws.  DOPL has 180 days to write these rules in order to make sure PAs in Utah are compliant with the law. Following DOPL rules, systems/facilities then need to operationalize their use at the practice site(s).

Until these new laws are fully implemented please continue to follow procedures as have previously been in place.

Any questions are best directed toward DOPL.
