On Feb. 21, 2018 many PAs from Utah met on capitol hill for a brief program and to meet with local legislators. The event was a success.
This year the UAPA worked with Senator Bramble on SB 68. This is an amendment to the Vital statisics act now allowing phyisician assistants to sign death certificates.
We were pleased to hear from the bill sponsor Senator Bramble, who spoke on the bill process and expressed his gratitude toward PAs in the state. Also, Michelle Mcomber , CEO from the UMA , Jared Spackman, Brad Pace , Kim McFalarlane and Dan Crouse, from UAPA, addressed those in attendance.
Sheralee Petersen, legislative chair for the UAPA, organized this event and has done a wonderful job in developing a strong relationship with the UMA.
Kevin Anderson, a PA from Richfield, had a chance to meet with his local senator, Ralph Okerlund.
Sentor Okerlund announced PA day on the hill during the session and it was greeeted with a very loud applause.
Please follow SB 68 on the utah legislative website for more details.
