Senate Bill 162 Signed by Governor Gary Herbert

Posted over 2 years ago by Joe Peduto

Senate Bill 162 has been signed by Governor Gary Herbert and is now under review with the Department of Occupational and Professional Licensing. We anticipate the law to be in full effect by September 2017. Please check your emails from DOPL and the UAPA when September approaches. The next DOPL meeting is June 13th.

This bill allows the following:

  • Removes the chart co-signature requirement for Schedule II and III controlled substances
  • Revises language regarding chart review to provide for review of patient data as determined by the physician and PA, and
  • Removes the requirement for an applicant for licensure to attest that they have a delegation of services agreement signed by any substitute physicians.
