Position Descriptions from the Bylaws:

President:

The President shall preside at all meetings of the Academy and at all meetings of the Board of Directors. The President shall appoint standing and ad hoc committees. The President shall designate a chairperson and assign Members at Large to a committee subject to the approval of the Board.

The President shall be the official spokesperson of the Academy and shall designate other spokespersons in his/her absence. Subject to the foregoing sentence, in the event of temporary absence or incapacity of the President, the Vice President shall assume his or her duties, or if the Vice President is unable or unavailable, the President-Elect shall assume these duties. The President shall also act as the first alternate delegate to the AAPA House of Delegates. 

Secretary: 

 Secretary: The Secretary is responsible for minutes of all business meetings of the organization, and is responsible for Board communication and documents of the Academy and to assure notification of members of all meetings.  


Delegate:

Duties of the delegates shall include attendance at national meetings of the AAPA House of Delegates and reporting to the Board following each national meeting. They shall also attend Board meetings of the Academy and be fully active in the affairs of the Academy but shall not be entitled to vote.  Reimbursement of Delegate expenses shall be based upon participation in Board meetings, as defined in Policy.

Members at Large:

These representatives are from each congressional district. They serve as a voice for the PAs in that district. They will bring up concerns from area PAs and ensure PAs in their area stay informed on legislation and updates.
