President Elect:

Kelsey Genovesse

Kelsey Genovesse

I am grateful for the opportunity to run for President of the UAPA. With ten years of clinical experience in family medicine, HIV prevention and ranging from rural to city experiences I believe I have gained the perspectives and understanding required for this position. I have served on a committee with WAPA (Washington Association of Physician Assistants) and was the Chair of a Controlled Substance Committee while practicing in Washington. I believe that the progress and continued development of our careers as Physician Assistants takes place when we as a collective support each other and work together to make change. All voices in the state of Utah must feel heard by UAPA and we must consider the needs of PAs from all regions and disciplines. Thank you for your vote.

AAPA Delegate

David Anderson

David Anderson

I graduated from UPAP in 1985 back when it was the MEDEX Project. My preceptorship was in family medicine in Murray, Utah with

Dr. Pete Sundwall, MD. This partnership only lasted 32 years until the passing of a great “Country Doc”.

I am currently working for Optum Primary Care At Jordan Ridge Family Medicine in Taylorsville.

Over the years I have had the opportunity to work with the UAPA in several position as well as AAPA.

I have watched and participated in the growth of our profession and have been amazed with the evolution and acceptance we now enjoy. The work that PA’s do each and everyday in every aspect of medicine is the reason for this success.

Todays board of Directors for UAPA is a well organized, connected, hard working and focused group working to keep PA’s in the forefront of medical caregivers in todays world.

I would be honored to once again serve in the House of Delegates for AAPA representing Utah PA’s.

Thank you for your consideration.

In 2005, I graduated from East Carolina University with the last B.S. in physician assistant studies offered prior to becoming a Master's program.  We were also the last distance learning class; offered to those with established medical careers.  My career started in the ER and lasted 8 years before getting a wild hair to do orthopedic surgery and later urgent care.   Currently, I am working for Intermountain Health in the InstaCares in Weber and Davis counties.

My last club membership was in high school.  After attending the Red Rock UAPA conference, I felt this was a great group of providers that I would like to work with more.  I can offer my time, experience, loyalty and  represent our organization to the best of my ability.

My husband works from home, in the meat brokerage business, and has a lapidary side gig selling rocks and making silver and rock jewelry.  This allows our two mini-Australian shepherds to also stay home, without kennels.  We moved to our forever home, in Riverdale, two and a half years ago.  Our son recently graduated from college and is learning to adult in this big world.   We enjoy travelling, camping, rockhounding, hiking, kayaking and I make greeting cards as well.

I graduated from University of Utah PA program class of 27 in 1998. At the time it was a bachelor program. I worked for Utah Heart Clinic for six years at LDS Hospital then joined Utah Cardiology since then. I have enjoyed cardiovascular medicine and have mentored many many many students through our clinic. I did work some moonlighting with Emergency Medicine through Lakeview Hospital. I plan on going back to school to get my masters and doctorate degree over the next few years.

I have been working as a PA-C since 2015. My primary work experience since then has been as a hospitalist in cardiovascular surgery and critical care.  I joined the Utah Physician Assistant Program faculty in 2022. I am driven to help those experiencing hardship particularly individuals in our community experiencing homelessness. The work that UAPA has been able to accomplish these past few years is a national inspiration and I wish to continue this work as a board member. Thank you for your consideration.
