As National PA Week begins on October 6, it’s the perfect time to recognize the nearly 2,500 Physician Assistants/Associates (PAs) practicing across Utah. PAs work in nearly every healthcare setting — from primary care and hospitals to urgent care, specialty clinics and rural health centers — and in a wide range of specialties, helping Utahns of all ages.
What makes PAs truly special is the trust we build with patients. We get to know families, follow them over time, and guide them through both routine and complex health challenges. This personal connection allows us to provide care that is not only effective but also compassionate and responsive to each individual’s needs.
PAs help expand access to care, improve patient outcomes and do so in a cost-effective way, ensuring more Utahns can receive the healthcare they need. During National PA Week, let’s celebrate the PAs across the state who are making a difference every day — helping Utahns feel heard, cared for and supported in their health journey.
